Late
in 1969. Achille & Angelo Parrilla
started the DAP company in Milan Italy. After 20 years and multiple World
Championships, the two brothers went their separate ways with Achille
forming the Italsistem company. This high-tech factory went on to produce
the best engines in the world of karting. The chassis department, named ‘MARI’ after
Achilles wife, was formed. It later went on to win multiple European karting
championships, televised by Eurosport. This exposure helped bring the
Mari brand to the world’s attention.
A year later, the Mari company was sold to its present owner,
experienced kart engineer Renzo Giugni, whose input brought
the Mari kart range right
up to date. Today
the modern factory is based at Cesenatico on the Adraitic coast of Italy.
Mari produces the frame and many of its high quality components themselves,
therefore creating an item for a specific market is not a problem.
Positioning a product at the fore front of its market is every kart manufactures
quest, but Mari is passionate about producing racing karts. For those lucky enough
to drive one you will understand why..... |
